Editorial preview. This is an official minmaxed.gg staff overview of a game that has not launched yet. Everything below comes from the first closed beta and public announcements. Per-character aspects, traits, rows and rarities are provisional community beta data, not official listings, and will change before release. We will replace this with full data once the game is out.
Honkai: Nexus Anima is HoYoverse's take on the creature-collecting auto-battler, its first game in the genre. You play an Animaster who collects creatures called Anima and deploys them on a board, where combat resolves automatically in the style of an auto-chess.
As of July 2026 the game is in its first closed beta with no launch date announced.
Aspects are the game's affinities, and in the lore they once existed as opposing pairs such as Love and Hate or Light and Dark. Traits are battlefield roles: Striker, Blaster, Protector, Gladiator, Mastermind, Explorer, Biggun, Hothead, Mascot, Cherubim and Spook. Community trackers also describe units by front, mid or back positioning, which is how we tag rows here.
In the Old World the paired Aspects were ruled by Sovereigns. An event called the Sundering severed those bonds and scattered them into 81 independent Planes ruled by Novarchs. That split gives the two factions their names: Sovereigns and Novarchs. The playable humanoid trainers include crossover faces from Honkai Impact 3rd such as Kiana and Blade, while Nanafey serves as the game's mascot and tutorial guide.
Anima tiles show the aspect, trait and row we could corroborate across two reputable community sources. Many entries are intentionally sparse: where only a single unconfirmed source existed, we left the fields blank rather than publish shaky data. Rarities are provisional beta values and in some cases sources disagree.
